Suspect arrested in shooting of 10-year-old

MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee police announced an arrest on Monday in the playground shooting of a 10-year-old girl.

MPD did not release the suspects name, they said they're waiting for charges to be filed first.

The did explain that the suspect is 18-years-old and has a long arrest record.

The suspect is said to have 15 previous arrests for crimes like burglary, battery, motor vehicle theft, and robbery.

He was currently on probation for burglary and 12 days before this was wounded in another shooting.

Police said they are still looking for a second suspect and are looking for the weapon used.

The community was given credit in helping MPD catch the first suspect and Police Chief Ed Flynn said he will need their help in catching the second.

Flynn said his department has a very strong case.

It's unclear if this first suspected arrested was the person to actually shoot 10-year-old Sierra Guyton.
