Suspect arrested after pursuit ending near 11th and Capitol, illegal narcotics found in vehicle

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police took a 30-year-old man into custody Tuesday, June 20, following a pursuit initiated after officers spotted a car matching the description of a vehicle wanted in a shooting. 

Police say they tried to stop the vehicle near Clarke and Teutonia Avenue around 11:10 p.m., but the driver refused to stop. 

A pursuit began, ending near 11th and Abert Place when officials say the suspect got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. 

The man was arrested near 11th and Capitol Drive and taken to an area hospital as a precaution. 

Illegal narcotics were found in the vehicle, according to authorities.

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
