Summerfest Tech returns to Milwaukee's lakefront on Sept. 8

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. (MWF) recently announced the return of Summerfest Tech on Sept. 8. 

All programming will be accessible virtually and the afternoon programming will be available in-person at the Johnson Controls World Sound Stage at Henry Haier Festival Park.

Summerfest Tech supports the growing tech initiative in the region and state, convening technologists, business leaders, and innovators, officials say.

Programming will appeal to corporate businesses, startups, investments, and nonprofit tech communitities.

“Now in its fourth year, we look forward to continuing the momentum of Summerfest Tech and bringing the tech community together virtually, and in-person, during Summerfest,” said Don Smiley, President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.  “Summerfest Tech offers us the opportunity to not only extend the Summerfest brand, but to also shine the spotlight on Milwaukee and its growing reputation as a tech hub.”

Winners lineup:
1st place ($25,000 prize): Kwema
2nd place ($10,000 prize): Fly Parrots
3rd place ($5,000 prize): Rex Academy
The other four start-ups are going home with $2,500 each!
