MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summerfest is making a splash with a new basketball competition happening July 8.

"I'm born and raised in Milwaukee so obviously Summerfest is a huge event," said Joah Tucker University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, MACC Fund.

All four of Wisconsin's men's division one college basketball teams will be represented in the first Alumni Charity Challenge.

"The state of Wisconsin means a lot to me and so does basketball so when those two things come together this event was a no brainer," said Travis Diener, Marquette University, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee.

"I'm excited for the event," said Ben Brust, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Garding Against Cancer. "If you're looking for a fun, engaging, great cause."

It's a three on three shooting competition with the teams raising money for different charities.

"We want to win because we want A. the pride, B. the smack talk and C. the most amount of money going to Garding against Cancer," said Brust.

"It brings together a collection of really good players obviously representing a lot of great organizations and raising awareness and money for those organizations and a chance to have fun," Diener said.

"Anything for the kids. Obviously it's a local event for the four division one colleges so it's an honor to be called upon and have our school recognized," said Tucker.

Fans can donate to support their favorite teams now with $10 or more earning you a free ticket to the event.
