Summerfest brings back local, small business market for 5th year

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summerfest is amping up local businesses for the 5th year in a row.
The festival is highlighting Milwaukee's own small, local businesses. This year, six businesses received the BMO small business grant and have a tent at the small business market right next to the Summerfest Merch store.

For businesses like Bandit MKE, Mae'Rose Beauty and Howdy Hats Bar, it's been a way to get thousands of eyes on their products. Even musicians have stopped by to check out Bandit's vintage band t-shirts.

"We're here all day. So, performers they get here and they want to shop around, and they come to the shop local market," said Michelle Eigenberger, the Co-owner of Bandit MKE. "We did have Artemas in the booth and his little entourage. That's exciting. He bought a bunch of shirts and to our surprise he wore one of them on stage that night."

Howdy Hat Bar was able to collaborate with Summerfest to create a hat that's also being sold in the merch store.

The Shop Local Market is located between the Generac Power Stage and Miller Lite Oasis. You can shop the Wisconsin-based small businesses and artisans all throughout the festival.
