MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- As the city of festivals gears up for a packed summer - preparations are underway at the Summerfest grounds. Today, May 22, Briggs and Stratton teamed up with Summerfest in a pre-festival beautification effort.
More than a dozen volunteers helped brightened up the grounds with a variety of flowers.
Briggs and Stratton has partnered with Summerfest for nearly 30 years.
Organizers say it's important to take care of Milwaukee's outdoor spaces.
"As a longtime Summerfest partner, we at Briggs and Stratton believe it's important to be here today to beautify the grounds before the season," said Annie Raab, communications and events specialist at Briggs and Stratton.
This is the second year of their green space initiative, before the Summerfest grounds open up.
