MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "Summer Spinz" kicks off at Milwaukee's Red Arrow Park on Friday, June 16.
The Summer initiative is taking place on the popular ice rink in the heart of downtown Milwaukee.
This is the first-time roller skaters will be allowed to skate on the cement covered ice rink.
"I want the energy to be felt the vibes, I want all the skaters to come down and enjoy this," said Terrence Clarke President of Roll train for-profit Milwaukee Skate group.
The summer series came to life with the help of city partners, like Milwaukee Business Improvement District #21.
"It’s another great reason of brining community together in the heart of downtown Milwaukee," said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21.
The "Summer Spinz" series will take place every third Friday in July and August, opening a new world for skaters to get down and roll around.
Summer Spinz' House DJ, Chicago's DJ Bam, will spin music from 5-7 p.m., followed by DJ Shawna, the official DJ and producer for the Milwaukee Bucks from 7-9 p.m.
