Sukkot Street Party to celebrate Sukkot
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lubavitch of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Jewish Federation are joining forces to host an outdoor street festival, the Sukkot Street Party, marking the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.
The event will take place on Monday, Oct. 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the intersection of Green Bay Ave. and Green Tree Rd.
Sukkot, the Jewish harvest festival which began at nightfall on Sept. 29 and extends until Oct. 7, is traditionally celebrated by constructing a sukkah, a temporary outdoor dwelling.
The street festival will feature a range of activities including carnival rides, a DJ and an oversized community sukkah. Admission to the festival is free, but tickets for rides and food will be available for purchase.
