MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Today, May 7, was a great day for kids to do their learning outside the classroom. At the Baird Center downtown, 3,800 students attended the annual Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) World Fair.
Students put together projects that showcase what they've learned during the school year about the countries that make up the United Nations.
"Now more than ever the world is interconnected," said Executive Director of the MPS Foundation Willie Jude II. "When you are able to share that information face to face, you learn a lot on the internet, but it's fun to share your projects not only with your peers but with your community members as well."
Former Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, recently back from his time as ambassador to Luxembourg, was there to check out the kids' projects.
