Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Brownie
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some of Milwaukee's best young minds are competing this afternoon in a "Shark Tank" styled event on Friday, April 26. It's the annual "Brewed Ideas Challenge."
Marquette University and Brady Corporation partnered up. giving entrepreneurs a chance to pitch their business proposals, with winners going home with $7,500.
There are two groups. Social impact and traditional businesses.
Each with separate rewards.
"It's the best kind of event for students," said Patrick Monahan, Director of Innovation.
"This is on top of everything the students already do. All the course work, all the clubs, most of them are solving complicated problems, and they have something that burns so much they want to get it out. They're so excited to be here. They love it," said Monahan.
The pitches are scheduled to go until 5:00 p.m.
This is the 11th year of the competition and the 10th year as the Brewed Ideas Challenge.
Since its inception, the challenge has awarded over $150,000 in seed money.
