Lambeau Field back open after fire response prompts evacuation
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A gun was recovered from a student at James E. Dottke High School on Friday afternoon.
According to West Allis-West Milwaukee School District officials, a staff member was notified at dismissal that a student may be in possession of a handgun.
School officials responded and secured the student who turned the weapon over to them.
The West Allis Police responded immediately and the student was in full cooperation with school officials.
The School District released the following statement,
It is important to remember that the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District takes all threats seriously and that this behavior is punishable by suspension or expulsion. As the District cooperates fully with the West Allis Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office, the perpetrator may face felony charges and jail time as a result of their actions.
The investigation remains ongoing.
