’Makes us feel at home’: Operation Holiday Celebration brings...
It's been a dreary day across SE WI with overcast skies, but it's kept our temps stable in the upper 30s inland to mid 40s lakeside. We'll stay mild through this evening, but a strong cold front is racing in from the northwest and will pass through the area around midnight.
Scattered snow showers move in behind the front and will last through sunrise.
There may be a few slick spots tomorrow morning as a dusting to a few tenths of an inch of accumulation is possible.
The bigger story will be the strong winds and cold temps that accompany the front. Wind gusts pick up after midnight and will be between 30-40 mph most of the day Monday. Strongest gusts will occur in the morning.
Temps reach their highs in the low 30s at the beginning of the day then drop into the 20s for most of the daylight hours. Combined with the strong winds, it'll feel like the single digits to mid teens most of the day.
Wind calms down Monday night, but skies will also clear, allowing temps to plummet into the teens Tuesday morning. After the cold start, highs warm close to normal then it's back to above normal for the rest of the week.
After Monday's early morning snow showers, we won't see any chance of precip return until the end of the week in the form of rain. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to track the incoming snow and wind.
