Strong Storms Possible This Evening

Today is the hottest day of the year!  Milwaukee hit a high temperature of 93°. The hot air arrives on very gusty winds from the southwest. Most spots have experienced wind gusts to around 40 mph.

Meanwhile, northern Wisconsin has had severe storms in progress for much of the day. The storm threat will sink south along a cold front expected to hit our area by early this evening. Golf ball size hail and gusty winds to 60 miles per hour have already been reported with the storms north of our area. As we continue toward the early evening a line of storms will frequent lightning, hail and gusty winds will cross into southeast Wisconsin.  The storms will move through quickly and the severe threat should be well over by midnight.
