Stranger giving woman ride sexually assaults her, Madison Police say

MADISON, Wis. - A woman visiting from New York told police she was sexually assaulted early Sunday morning after getting a ride with a stranger, according to a release.

The 18-year-old woman told police she had been socializing downtown when she was driven back to where she was staying on Ohio Avenue by an unknown man, officials said.

The assault happened inside the man’s car, according to the release.

Detectives are working to obtain more details about the incident.
