MADISON Wis. (CBS 58) -- State employees will be required to wear face masks regardless of vaccination status as COVID-19 cases continue to rise at an alarming rate.
Effective Thursday, Aug. 5, nearly all state workers and contractors will have to mask up according to the Department of Administration.
As for the general public, DOA is recommending vaccinated individuals who visit state buildings including the Capitol wear face masks. The Department will require masks for members of the public who are unvaccinated.
This order does not apply to those who work for lawmakers or the courts who set their own guidelines.
For executive branch employees, masks will be required in areas DOA overseas such as hallways, bathrooms and other common areas used.
