State Supt. Tony Evers calls for common ground on school finance reform

MADISON-The Superintendent of Public Instruction of Wisconsin since 2009 sounded an optimistic note as he addressed hundreds who had gathered in capital rotunda Thursday.

\"Let's support and honor our educators, public librarians let's deliver on high standards and expectations for our kids,\" he said.

Evers recognized those who had great success in education.

He said they can motivate those who are still facing the challenges of poverty and violence and other outside influences that can hinder learning.

\"Let's synchronize our moral compasses and begin the difficult journey and promote excellence.\"

Evers implored parents to get more involved in their child's school life.
