WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- This Friday, Sept. 29, the 30th annual Harvest Fair in West Allis kicks off. You can experience a lot of the same Wisconsin State Fair fun, but with pumpkins and apple cider.

When the crisp cool air moves into Wisconsin, the grounds switch from summer to fall.

"Central Park gets filled with hay, and you actually make your own scarecrow with a flannel and pants and nylons," said Tess Kerksen, director of public relations for the Wisconsin State Fair.

This year marks the 30th annual Harvest Fair.

"Harvest Fair is kind of a hidden gem. It's a really fun thing that State Fair Park puts on, but not a ton of people know about it," said Kerksen. "It has rides, it has great food, it has great live music...all of those elements you see at the Wisconsin State Fair, but kind of toned down with a fall overlay."

This year will be the first time you can take a ride down the big slide since 2019.

The Farmers Market and vendor space will also be returning, with some new vendors and those who have come to the grounds for 10 years.

You can buy activity passes ahead of time. You can find all of the Harvest Fair info HERE.
