MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- State Attorney General Josh Kaul announced new changes coming to the drug take back program. Starting in 2020, all CVS Pharmacy locations will have medication disposal options.
Officials made the announcement Wednesday morning, Oct. 23 that adds to the already existing kiosks.
It's part of a statewide strategy to help communities battle drug abuse.
"By disposing of your unused and unwanted medications you can make our communities safer from the opioid epidemic," said AG Kaul.
"Take Back My Meds MKE" is spearheading the expansion. A total of 48 kiosks are already set up at local police departments.
The locations without safe medication disposals will have DisposeRX.
Saturday, Oct. 26 is drug take back day across Wisconsin.
