Southern Duck and Goose Season Closes on Monday

The southern duck and goose seasons will close next week Monday – Friday, according to the DNR.

Wardens say all goose and duck hunting south of Highway 10 and east of Highway 41 (including the Bay of Green Bay) is illegal during these 5 days.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service sets the maximum number of days at 60 for Wisconsin's duck season. By closing the season for 5 days during the week, those 5 days then can be added onto the end of the season and give more opportunity for hunting late season migrators as they make their way into southern Wisconsin.

If you have any questions about whether you are in the southern duck or goose zone, visit the DNR website at dnr.wi.gov and search for "Waterfowl" to find a copy of season dates and regulation booklets.

If you have information regarding natural resource violations, you may confidentially report your information by calling or texting: VIOLATION HOTLINE: 1-800-TIP-WDNR or 1-800-847-9367. The hotline operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Trained staff relay reported information to conservation wardens.
