Evening Update: Winter Weather Advisory until 9 pm.
Updated 5:30pm Monday March 16th,
The Blizzard Warning has now transitioned to a Winter Weather Advisory. This runs until 9pm tonight.
Snow showers are now very isolated and while winds are coming down gusts are still well into the 30mph range. Blowing and drifting snow will still cause issues for the rest of the day. At this time many main roads are still at least partially snow covered. We don't expect any additional accumulation so with that in mind, here's an updated list of the top spots across the area. This includes any modest snowfall from Saturday night in a few northern spots.
We are also tracking another light snow expected to arrive Tuesday night to around daybreak Wednesday.
Updated 1:15pm Monday March 16th,
What a storm! We continue to battle gusty northwest wind, but snow showers are certainly lighter and much more scattered as of early this afternoon. Here's the latest radar imagery:
Snowfall has tipped over a foot in western parts of Fond du Lac county, although that also counts the snow that started Saturday night. That said, just the last 24 hours has dropped upward of a half foot of snow in many locations throughout southeast Wisconsin.
The falling snow is becoming lighter and much more scattered, but the wind remains problematic. Because of this, the National Weather Service continues our area under the Blizzard Warning until 4pm this afternoon.
Updated as of 11:00 AM Monday, March 16th...
I almost feel like this is Groundhog Day. Weather conditions haven't really changed much from earlier this morning. Still have the blowing snow and gusty winds. The snow rates have gotten a little less intense. This is some good news. Please drive with extreme caution if you have to venture out. We've gotten reports of around 5 to 6 inches across the metro area with greater amounts well north and west. The Blizzard Warning remains in place until 4 PM. How much snow have you received? Let us know, please.
Bad roads...
Few reports...

Update as of 8:45 AM Monday, March 16th...
It's just one of those days. Weather is the real story. We'll see the snow continue along with the gusty winds through mid-afternoon. The Blizzard Warning goes until 4 PM. Staying home is probably one of the best places to be today. If you do have to travel, please use extreme caution and tack on a lot of extra time.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Before Monday, we were had at least a 5-and-a-half-inch snowfall deficit for the season. This departure will be wiped away after Monday's snowfall. Expect to see snowfall totals around 5 inches across the metro along with higher amounts north and lesser totals to the south. The Blizzard Warning holds until 4 PM. Remember, with a blizzard, you actually don't need to have snow falling. You just need snow on the ground along with three hours of visibility reduced to a quarter of a mile or less. 35 mph wind gusts are also part of the criteria. Meantime, the snow departs the area into the evening. Our winds should die down considerably as well into the night. Looking ahead, we have a few bouts of light precipitation, including light snow for Wednesday morning and perhaps a bit of mix for Thursday morning. Could be around 50 degrees by Friday, the actual start of spring!
