(SLIDE-SHOW) Ice Castles Open on Friday in Wisconsin Dells

The Ice Castles in the Wisconsin Dells open on Friday at 6:00 PM.

According to Ice Castles’ website, crews grow roughly 10,000 icicles every day and place them throughout the cast le to provide something for the water to freeze to.

This is the first year for Ice Castles in Wisconsin Dells, but it’s already looking to be a record-breaking year. Tens of thousands of people are expected to visit the castle and explore its tunnels, fountains, frozen thrones, towers and ice slides for both kids and adults.

CBS 58's Michael Schlesinger will have a preview of the Ice Castles on the morning news tomorrow.

Online tickets cost $9.95 for adults and $6.95 for children.

The castles will be open Friday 3 PM to 10 PM, Saturday 12 PM to 10 PM and Sunday 12 PM to 8 PM.

Tickets need to be purchased online or at the Ice Castles site not at Mount Olympus Resort.

The company’s website recommends wearing boots when visiting.

Bringing a small sled to pull children instead of a stroller is encouraged.
