Sleep Number recalls foot warmers sold with Sleep Number 360 Smart Beds due to burn hazard

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- You might want to reconsider the benefits of trying to stay warm this winter if you bought a Sleep Number 360 Smart Bed. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for foot warmers that were sold with the Sleep Number 360 Smart Beds due to a burn hazard.

According to a press release by the CPSC, “The foot warmer under the mattress cover can short-circuit and overheat, posing a burn hazard.”

The recall involves the foot warmer that was sold exclusively with the Sleep Number 360 smart beds (models i7 and i10) when combined with a FlexFit 3 adjustable base.

There were 6 reports of the foot warmer overheating, and one report of a burn injury.

The footwarmers were sold with the following 360 smart bed sizes: 

  • Twin XL
  • Full
  • Queen
  • King
  • FlexTop™ King
  • Cal King
  • Split King
  • Split Cal King
  •  FlexTop™ Cal King

Anyone who bought any one of these beds is asked to disable the foot warmer using the instructions provided. Sleep Number is also directly contacting all known consumers to provide a free replacement.
