Six Milwaukee Police Officers Hailed as Heroes

MILWAUKEE-Six district 4 Milwaukee police officers were hailed as heroes after running over to a burning nearby building and saving lives.


Milwaukee Police Sgt. Patrick Brosseau, officer's Andrew Moutry, Kenneth Daugherty, Rufaro Davis, Shalimar Lefore and Phillip Lewis were all presented with a proclamation by the Milwaukee City Council on Tuesday afternoon after a standing ovation in thanks for their service.


The recognition comes on the heels of a a February 4th fire in which the apartment next to the district building went up in flames on 70th streets and West Silver Spring.


Instead of waiting for the fire department to respond, the officer's who who had seen the smoke and flames from their offices, responded by running over and knocking down doors where tenants did not respond.


Thanks to their quick actions, no one was reported injured as a direct result from the fire.
