Single Vehicle Accident Causes Power and Cable Television Outages in West Bend

A single vehicle accident in West Bend on Wednesday caused power and Cable TV outages.
A 73-year-old woman from Sheboygan Falls struck a power pole. The pole snapped off and held wires belonging to WE Energies, Charter Communications and AT&T and included fiber optic lines.
The accident occurred around 11:30 AM.
The vehicle sustained heavy damage. The driver was examined and released at the scene.
Repair crews remain on the scene and traffic flow through the area is being flagged by crews and may be restricted.
STH 144 was initially closed for a short period of time and was reopened after the area was deemed safe.
The accident was caused by the driver having a lapse in attention to her driving.
