Silver SUV being sought by MPD following hit-and-run crash

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are searching for a silver SUV that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene Monday, Dec. 1, according to police.

The crash occurred at around 8:40 p.m. near Juneau and Van Buren, police said. A silver SUV traveling southbound struck a pedestrian who had just exited their vehicle outside 1237 N. Van Buren St. The SUV then reportedly fled southbound on Van Buren.

Police say the 26-year-old pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Based on surveillance footage and vehicle debris left at the scene, police believe the SUV is a 2017-2024 Jeep Compass Latitude with significant damage to the front passenger side.
