Shorewood officials propose legislation to decriminalize marijuana

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Shorewood officials have proposed legislation that would decriminalize marijuana.

It would also reduce the fine to just $1. With the surcharge, that comes to $58.

The current fine is $250 plus surcharge.

It's important to note that the legislation wouldn't make marijuana legal.

Cases involving less than an ounce of marijuana wouldn't be referred to the DA's Office for charges.
