Sheriff's office releases two year wrong-way driving study

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office has released a two year wrong way driving study that details statistics about wrong-way drivers, and offers suggestions on fixing the wrong-way driver problem.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke directed an analysis of wrong-way driver incidents. There were 34 in 2012 and 43 in 2013. Clarke says flashing signs, better sign placement, median barriers and pavement markings will help curb what has become a dangerous trend in Milwaukee.

The sheriff's office can't change signs themselves, that's the state's job. Sheriff Clarke believes the state will help him out, and hope to see progress on some problem intersections by late spring.
