Sheriff: Woman, 18, Fatally Hit By Train After Slipping On Snow

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An 18-year-old Champlin woman died over the weekend when she slipped on new-fallen snow and was hit by a train.

Danielle McKenna Rogers was fatally struck in Anoka Sunday morning by a freight train, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says.

Witnesses told authorities that she was trying to cross the tracks as the train was approaching, slipped and didn’t make it out of the way.

The sheriff’s office said Rogers was trying to catch a North Star train to get to work in Bloomington.
