Sheriff Clarke Comments on Potential of Joining Donald Trump's Cabinet.

Sheriff Clarke released a statement on the possibility of becoming a cabinet member for Donald Trump.

This comes after Donald Trump last night.

Politico named Clarke as a possibility for a Homeland Security Position.  Something he first mentioned to the CBS 58 News at 4 during a live interview.

At the time, the Sheriff also acknowledged that he has talked with the Donald Trump campaign, but said he had no idea the source of an article in "Urban Milwaukee"  that strongly suggested he was a potential Vice Presidential Candidate for the GOP.

"I'm flattered, but I don't know where it comes from. I'd be honored to serve in a Donald Trump cabinet. I'd rather be in a policy making position." said the Sheriff at the time.

The Sheriff said he was particularly interested in strategies for Homeland Security.

He would not give details on the substance of his conversations that he says he's had with the Trump people.

Here is the statement given the day after the election:

There has been a lot of speculation as to what a Donald Trump win might have on my future.  Let me make this clear - I am the Sheriff of Milwaukee County.  I will continue to be the Sheriff of Milwaukee County until I am no longer the Sheriff of Milwaukee County, at which time I won't be the Sheriff of Milwaukee County.
Anything other than that is pure speculation.  I supported Donald Trump because I believed in his leadership at a time when this country needs it most.
