Sheboygan Police investigating fatal overdose at public library

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Sheboygan Police Department is investigating a fatal overdose that happened in the restroom of the Mead Public Library.

Police were called out to the library, located at 710 N. 8th Street, around 5 p.m. on May 3 after library staff located an unconscious male in the restroom.

Responding officers located a 28-year-old man in a bathroom stall and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say his death was consistent with a drug overdose.

Investigation revealed that a 28-year-old female and a 28-year-old male associate of the victim had purchased heroin from a residence in the 800 block of Bluff Avenue in Sheboygan and provided the heroin to the victim just prior to his death.

Police served a search warrant at the residence on Bluff Avenue and located marijuana, heroin and cash. The 36-year-old male resident was arrested.

A search warrant was also served at the male associate's residence in the 1500 block of Blocki Court in Sheboygan. Officers located suspected heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, prescription drugs and assorted firearms in the residence. The male resident was arrested.

The female associate was also arrested.

The charges are pending with the Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office.
