Sheboygan police: 2 teens arrested after carjacking, pursuit

OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two teenagers were taken into custody Monday, Nov. 9, after police say they carjacked a vehicle and led a police pursuit in Ozaukee County.

Police say a vehicle was stolen in the city of Manitowoc earlier in the day Monday, and the suspects attempted to steal another in Sheboygan before its driver drove away. Shortly after that, a vehicle was stolen in the 1300 block of N. 15th Street after a suspect pointed a firearm at a woman.

Both vehicles were located by the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department on I-43 Monday evening. The stolen vehicle from Manitowoc was stopped just south of the city of Belgium after spike strips were deployed. Police say two people fled the vehicle but were located nearby around 8 p.m. after a search was conducted. Residents in the area were asked to stay inside their homes while the search was underway.

The two people taken into custody were 16 and 17-year-old males.

Police say the vehicle stolen in Sheboygan has not been located. It's described as a red 2015 Ford Edge SUV with the Wisconsin plates 444DSW.
