CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) – Federal investigators say a 45-year-old Cudahy mother tried to help ISIS.

Waheba Dais is being held in the Waukesha County Jail and could face years in prison.

Neighbors near the home where Dais lived with two of her children were shocked to learn she supported ISIS. They say she was quiet and mostly kept to herself.

“We’ve always had a nice neighborhood here. I can’t believe something like this was happening,” said one neighbor, Richard Oswald.

Dais is from Israel but was a legal U.S. resident living in Cudahy. The criminal complaint says she had a “virtual library of instructions on how to make bombs, poison, and suicide vests to help ISIS members. The complaint alleges she hacked into several social media accounts to share her support of ISIS and share tips on how to carry out an attack.

One of her posts read “#Attention to the non-supporters brothers: I accepted your friend requests hoping that Allah will guide at least one of you.”

The FBI arrested Dais Wednesday.

“All the agents and the FBI and everybody running around, in the house, taking stuff out,” Oswald recounted.

Witnesses say they saw armored vehicles outside the home and officials going through the house, first in tactical gear and then hazmat suits.

Neighbors say Dais and her family were quiet and kept to themselves.

“She seemed nice. I gave her a couple of scarves that I never wore before because she always wore the head covering,” said neighbor Angelina Baker.

“They were sort of secluded,” said Oswald.

Dais’ ex-husband wouldn’t go on camera but told CBS 58 he was shocked to hear about her arrest but that their kids told him that she was always on her phone and computer.

Dais is facing 20 years in prison. She is expected to be back in federal court on Friday.
