SHARP Literacy hosts student design challenge at Wisconsin Center

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's always fun to watch young people learning right before your eyes, and on Thursday, CBS 58's Natalie Shepherd was a judge for SHARP Literacy's design challenge for students at the Wisconsin Center downtown.

Teams of 4th graders from six Milwaukee-area schools were presented with a problem. They had to work together to solve it, using what they know about art, coding and engineering.

Congratulations to the first place winners from St. Augustine Prep School.

They came up with a "hugging robot" to help kids cope with mental health issues linked to the pandemic.
