WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A group of local seniors came together Friday, Sept. 11, to help out local mothers in need of essential baby items.
People at Village of Manor Park in West Allis held a fund drive and collected money and baby supplies.
Things like clothing, diapers and formula, along with a cash donation, will be sent to the Milwaukee Women's Center, a place that helps victims of domestic violence.
Many of those women are mothers who lack the essentials for themselves and for their children.
"What we are doing is helping someone else and that's the important part," said Lois Stanton, resident at Village at Manor Park. "Helping these women who are in desperate need."
This event is one of many throughout the year benefiting the shelter.
