Sendik's at The Corners of Brookfield opens this weekend

Sendik’s Food Markets will open its 16th location at the area’s much-anticipated new shopping destination, The Corners of Brookfield, on Sunday, April 23. Sendik’s family co-owners and local officials will conduct a ceremonial community ribbon cutting Wednesday, April 26 at 10:00 AM. In celebration of the new location, Sendik’s will welcome shoppers with special sales at all locations and four weeks of unique events at The Corners.

“We’re just as excited as the rest of the community that The Corners of Brookfield is coming to life,” said family co-owner Ted Balistreri. “The unique layout of The Corners gives shoppers a strong neighborhood feel and is the perfect fit for Sendik’s as Milwaukee’s family owned and operated local grocer.”

The 35,000-square-foot grocery store is conveniently located within The Corners with easy access directly from the covered parking lot. Catering to today’s consumer seeking more fresh options, the new location features extensive, full-service deli, meat and bakery sections, and includes Sendik’s famous hand-stacked produce. Sendik’s Express, the company’s online ordering and curbside pick-up program, will be available starting May 1.

The festivities won’t end after the store opens, with several weeks of events and specials planned. Sendik’s will celebrate its 91st Anniversary beginning April 26, and one lucky shopper will win a seven-night Alaskan Cruise. Families are welcome to visit the new location April 29-30 to meet local mascots, enjoy free face painting and a balloon artist, and much more. In addition, local celebrities from Sendik’s four longstanding charity partners will participate in a cake decorating contest May 6. The winner will bring $1,000 back to their charity. Three days of special sales kick off the grand opening week and are good at all Sendik’s stores.
