Selfless gesture, cutting hair for children with cancer

MILWAUKEE-Teenage girls are often portrayed as being obsesses with their hair, but more than 100 students from Divine Savior Holey Angels High School gladly had practically all of it cut off Monday.

The hair will be donated to children who suffered illnesses that cause hair.

It was a record setting 105 students who took part in the hair cutting ceremony while hundreds of their fellow students cheered them on.

\"It is important especially in an all girls community,\" Senior Jessie Miller told CBS 58 News. \"Hair, which can seem so insignificant, is a huge part of a lot of girls' lives. And we can make such an impact here because there are so many girls.\"

Stylists with Studio 890 Salon in Elm Grove volunteered their time to make sure the girls had a cut bob to look at as they call their selfless gesture.
