Security guard shot outside of night club on Old World Third

A security guard is recovering after being shot outside of night club on Old World Third shortly after 12:30 am Saturday.

The security guard works at a club on Old World Third near Kilbourn. Police said that he was outside in an alley just south of the club when he confronted a group of males that he had denied entry.

Shots were fired and the 44-year-old security guard was struck. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

Officers who were on foot patrol nearby heard the shots and after a short pursuit were able to arrest a 23-year-old male. 

The officers recovered a pistol on the suspect that appeared to have been recently fired.

Police said that the investigation into this incident in ongoing.
