Search for missing 4-year-old to resume near Wisconsin River

The search for a missing 4-year-old girl will resume Wednesday morning. The child was reporting missing after she fell from a boat landing on the north side of the Wisconsin River in the town of Gotham around 6:15 p.m. Monday.

Several emergency crews searched Monday evening, until weather and visibility forced them to suspend efforts. They resumed the search early Tuesday morning. The crews again paused their efforts Tuesday evening, and plan to go out again at dawn Wednesday.

Authorities are asking the public not to join the search.  The Richland County Emergency Management office says \"Officials understand the emotional impact this has on our community and appreciates all the help that concerned citizens have offered.  However, at this time we are asking for people not to self deploy, as there are plenty of resources out on the water.\"
