Scooter Smile: Second baseman leads Brewers past Nationals

There has been very little for Scooter Gennett to smile about during the Brewers 2015 regular season. That changed Thursday night.

Gennett, recalled from AAA Colorado Springs, roped a go-ahead single in the eighth inning as the Brewers rallied to beat the Washington Nationals 6-5 Thursday night at Miller Park.

Gennett started and hit eighth in his first big league since May 17th. The Brewers sent the struggling second baseman to the minors after a .154 start to the season that included time on the disabled list after Gennett injured his hand reaching for body wash in the shower.

Gerardo Parra homered and Matt Garza gave up two earned runs over six innings for the Brewers, who are 7-4 since their 17 inning win over Arizona on May 31st.
