School suspends fourth grader who brought Nerf gun to show and tell

GEORGIA -- A fourth grade student in Georgia was suspended from school after bringing a Nerf gun to class for show and tell.  WMAZ reports the child's teacher had the kids bring in their toys for show and tell so they could get to know each other.

Scott McDonald told WMAZ he didn't think anything of his son bringing a Nerf gun to school. The school called McDonald saying his son brought a weapon to school. The Nerf gun McDonald's son brought to school was an orange and blue gun rated for ages six and up.

The school suspended the fourth grade student for three days. McDonald said he would have told his son not to bring the Nerf gun if he had known about it.
