School in Waukesha Celebrates MLK Day with Community Service

Most schools were empty on Monday, due to the Martin Luther King Day but it wasn’t the case here at Blair Elementary School in Waukesha.

It was a true celebration of King’s legacy, around 320 students gathered for a day of service at this school.
They came together at the school’s auditorium for an afternoon of activities that included recitals and a lot of music. School officials tell me these kind of activities on a day like today teach students about the core American principles of citizenship and turning service into action. Students say they learned a lot today specially about the importance of acceptance and working together.

School officials tell CBS 58 this school not only promotes student service today, but also throughout the year with.
