MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- School children at St. Mary Parish gathered Wednesday morning to ring bells to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
School officials say they hope this is something the students will remember.
"It's always important to know our history and that 175 rich years of history in the archdiocese. It's great to be a part of that and celebrate. We've been teaching kids more this year about this history. It's important to know where we've been so we know where we're going," said Principal Linda Joyner.
There are 196 parishes and 107 schools in the Milwaukee Archdiocese.
