WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Rotary Club of West Allis on Thursday, Jan. 15, presented a check for $6,000 to the Wisconsin Veterans Network, a group that works with veterans all over the state.
The money comes from a rotary club fundraiser in November and Quentin Hatfield of the Veterans Network tells CBS 58 the money is especially welcome right now.
"As agencies of government, agencies and other agencies run low on funds or out of funds like our veteran's rental assistance program in Wisconsin," said Hatfield. "So having these kinds of funds come in to help us make up the difference in the loss of those funds to help veterans remain stable in their homes, critically important."
The grant money will go to veterans and their families who are coping with food insecurity and who need help paying rent and utility bills.
