Ronald McDonald House's new expansion makes for an even happier home for families of sick children
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin has a big reason to celebrate. It's finally paying tribute to its third and most recent expansion.
There are 14 long-term guest rooms, a tree fort room, pet therapy area, large kitchen, community gathering space and sport court just to name a few of the additions.
The mission of the Ronald McDonald House is to keep families together and promote the health and wellbeing of children. Those with the non-profit say all the upgrades are a win for everyone.
The doors to the new expansion of The Ronald McDonald House actually opened up this past January.
Looking ahead, 2024 marks 40 years the house has been in operation. Since opening, more than 50 thousand families with sick children have stayed while their loved ones have gotten the medical care they've needed. The address is 8948 Watertown Plank Road in Milwaukee.
