ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Six days ago, a historic tornado ripped through part of a small Rock County community an hour-and-a-half southwest of Milwaukee. 

The tornado destroyed dozens of homes, barns and businesses. 

On Wednesday, first responders and county leaders spoke about the unprecedented weather event. 

According to county officials, more than 300 911 calls went out Thursday night, during what the National Weather Service categorized as high-end EF-2 tornado. 

County leaders say the tornado, which only lasted for a brief moment, left millions of dollars in damage. 

There will be a gathering at Evansville High School for those affected by the tornado at 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
