RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Christa Trushinsky and Kayla Harbour from River Bend Nature Center joined us on Friday, Jan. 16 to talk about the Sugar Bush Experience, a maple tapping program offered through the spring.
The one-hour outdoor program guides groups through the maple sugaring process, including drilling and tapping a maple tree, collecting and carrying buckets of sap back to the evaporator for boiling, and tasting the progression from sap to syrup to sugar.
The program is offered Monday through Saturday by appointment. Group size is limited to a maximum of 10 people. Cost is $60.
Reservations and sponsorships are available by calling (262) 639-1515 or emailing [email protected].
