PLYMOUTH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Known for its cheese making and cheese shops, Plymouth is also known for another tradition - the annual New Year's Eve Cheese Drop!
This was the 19th annual Sartori Big Cheese Drop presented by the Plymouth Arts Center.
The celebrations began inside the PAC Greatroom at 7:30 p.m. with a live performance, cheese tasting and a cash bar. Outside guests enjoyed piping hot cider and hot cocoa.
A big wedge of Sarvecchio parmesan cheese was lowered by a crane a bit earlier than midnight, around 10 p.m. New Year's Eve, but this unique celebration further reemphasizes Wisconsinites'' love for cheese!
