Ridglan Farms ordered to give up federal breeding license by July 1, congressman says

CBS 58

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Ridglan Farms will lose its federal breeding license, according to Wisconsin Congressman Mark Pocan.

He says Ridglan has been told to give up the federal license by July 1 or face action from the USDA.

The facility previously agreed to give up its state breeding license by the same deadline as part of an agreement to avoid criminal charges.

But Pocan says even with the licenses lost, research at Ridglan could continue.

He's pushing federal agencies to shut the facility down completely and find homes for the remaining 650 dogs.
