WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Allis Community Bike ride took place Wednesday, Sept. 6.
Riders met at Ope Brewing Company to begin the bike ride.
The ride was hosted by the city, as they look for ideas and feedback on their comprehensive plan.
Wisconsin state law requires communities to update their municipality's plans every 10 years. The bike ride gives residents a fun way to come together and share their thoughts.
"Kind of get people in the community together, get people excited about biking and seeing our community and just hear from people and their ideas for us," said Zac Roder, the lead planner of this event.
West Allis's comprehensive plan for the next decade is months in the making. They have been holding events all year to get thoughts and ideas from the community to get a vision for the future. They are currently in the plan development phase, and that plan should be adopted by the end of the year.
