Ride Honors Wheel and Sprocket's Owner

Wheel and Sprocket's Chris Kegel was recently diagnosed with an advanced form of cancer.

On Sunday, hundreds went on a "Slow Ride" to honor the West Allis native.

It started at State Fair Park and ended at Kegel's Inn in West Allis for a big block party.

Kegel turned Wheel and Sprocket into one of the best bicycle retailers in the U.S.

He, also, helped start the nation's one of the most significant bicycle advocacy movement “People for Bikes."

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and West Allis Mayor Dan Devine declared Sunday Chris Kegel day for all the work he's done in the past 40 years.
